Pet Rules at St. Pete Beach Condo Buildings

Aktualisiert im Oktober 2026.

Pet rules at a condo are set by each association, not by the city, and they can change when owners vote to amend the documents. This page compares what public sources report for ten buildings in St. Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille, using the same facts shown on our building guides. Where sources disagree, we say so instead of picking one.

We are John and Nicole, licensed Florida Realtors with LoKation Real Estate.

Reported pet rules by building

Of the ten buildings below, three have a reported no pets rule with no conflict in the sources we reviewed, two have a single listing showing pets allowed with limits, four have sources that conflict, and one is unconfirmed.

How condo pet rules work in Florida

  • Where the rules live. Pet rules are found in the condominium’s declaration and in its rules and regulations. A listing remark or a third-party building page is a summary, not the rule itself.
  • Owners and tenants can be treated differently. Some associations set one rule for owners and another for tenants, so ask about both if you plan to rent the unit out.
  • Limits are common. Where pets are allowed, limits on number, size or breed are common.
  • Rules change. Owners can vote to amend the documents, so a rule reported a few years ago may not be the rule today.
  • Get it in writing. Ask for the current declaration, rules and regulations, and any amendments before you make an offer, and read the pet section yourself.

Assistance animals are handled under fair housing law, separately from an association’s pet rules. Ask the association or an attorney how that applies to your situation.

Questions to ask before you write an offer

  • Are pets allowed for owners? For tenants?
  • How many pets are allowed per unit, and is there a weight, size or breed limit?
  • In a community with more than one building or association, does the rule differ by building?
  • Is association approval, registration or a fee required?
  • If the rule changed in the past, were existing pets allowed to stay, and can they be replaced?
  • Is a rule change being discussed or scheduled for a vote?
  • Can I have the current declaration, rules and regulations, and all amendments in writing?
